I like to do nothing - it gives me relief from expectations.
It lets me sit with myself and enjoy the company
Of an unrestricted moment.
It lets all those what-if bugs and oh, no pests scamper away
Since they chew on worry,
Worrying about how to best use time.
It lets my comparison charts crumble.
It lets my laundry list of disastrous possibilities
Fall into the wash.
It's amazing to me that we exist
Given the prescribed outcome of life.
How life is not a cruise ship but a caravan of travelers
Trying to reach home.
Time is always doing nothing while I watch it.
I rub it like a magic lantern
To give me a wish.
Maybe we should rub ourselves,
The lantern of all wishes
And forget time
That has nothing to give us
But its empty self.
beautiful.
